Damai Resolve company overview

Our Story

Principled Work,
Measured Approach.

Damai Resolve was founded on the conviction that most disputes, no matter how entrenched, carry within them the seeds of a workable resolution — if approached with patience, structure, and care.

About the Practice

Rooted in George Town, Penang

Damai Resolve was established in 2016 by a group of legal practitioners who had spent years observing how protracted litigation too often deepened conflict rather than resolved it. The practice was built around a simpler premise: that structured dialogue, when conducted with legal precision, frequently produces better outcomes for all parties than courtroom adversarialism.

Based in the historic heart of George Town, we serve individuals, businesses, and organisations across Penang and wider Peninsular Malaysia. Our work spans commercial contract disputes, construction and property matters, consumer-business conflicts, partnership disagreements, and civil liability claims.

We are not a high-volume practice. We take a measured number of engagements and give each one the attention it deserves. That philosophy is reflected in how we price our services, how we communicate with clients, and how we approach the difficult work of helping parties move forward.

How We Work

Our Standards and Protocols

Every engagement is guided by professional and ethical standards that protect our clients and maintain the integrity of the process.

Strict Confidentiality

All matters, communications, and documents shared during our engagements are treated with the highest level of confidentiality. Parties sign confidentiality agreements before any session begins, and our practitioners observe this obligation absolutely.

Legal Compliance

Mediation services are conducted in accordance with the Mediation Act 2012. Arbitration matters follow applicable institutional rules, including AIAC guidelines. All litigation work observes the Rules of Court 2012 and the Legal Profession Act 1976.

Impartial Facilitation

Our mediators maintain strict neutrality throughout the process. We do not advocate for any party's position or push for particular settlement terms. Our role is to create a structured space in which parties can reach their own considered agreement.

Data Protection

Personal and case-related data is handled in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Data is stored securely, retained only for the duration required, and is never shared with third parties without explicit written consent.

Informed Consent

No settlement is recorded without the full, informed consent of all participating parties. We take care to ensure that each party understands the implications of any agreement before signing, and that no party feels pressured to accept terms they have reservations about.

Continuing Professional Development

All practitioners maintain their required Continuing Professional Development hours with the Malaysian Bar Council and engage in ongoing training in dispute resolution best practice, including participation in regional mediation forums.

Dispute Resolution Practice in Penang, Malaysia

Damai Resolve operates from Jalan Gurdwara in George Town, one of Penang's historic commercial thoroughfares. Our location places us within reach of the George Town business community, while our capacity for remote and hybrid sessions allows us to assist parties across Peninsular Malaysia and, in appropriate matters, internationally.

The practice covers commercial mediation, civil dispute advisory, domestic arbitration, and full-scope civil litigation in Malaysian courts. We work with individual claimants, small businesses, corporate entities, and their respective legal representatives. When parties engage us directly, we provide clear guidance on the most appropriate process for their matter and their circumstances.

Our practitioners hold qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Bar Council and have experience in matters filed under the Mediation Act 2012, the Arbitration Act 2005, and the Rules of Court 2012. We engage in ongoing professional development and maintain membership with relevant industry bodies, including the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators.
